To celebrate the launch of “Let’s go Dizzy” the much anticipated Story of the Oliver Twins’ amazing career (so far!) from Fusion Retro Books, Philip and Andrew are making a very special appearance at the National Videogame Arcade… along with authors Roger Kean, editor of Crash and Zapp!64 Magazines in the 80’s & 90’s and Chris Wilkins, publisher of a number of Retro books including The Story of Ocean and The Story of US Gold there to talk about the writing and publishing of the book.
The book covers the inside story of two brothers who turned a love of games into a business that inspired millions. It follows the birth of home computers, classic British 8-bit games and the creation of Dizzy, one the most famous video game characters of the 1980s. Juggling school work and pioneering game development from their bedrooms, the most prolific authors of Amstrad and Spectrum games number an amazing 26 #1 bestsellers, 34 original games and around five million sales, and at one point representing over 15% of all UK games sales. This is the saga of the Oliver Twins – ‘probably the most prolific 8-bit game developers in the world!’
