Outstanding TIGA Graduate of the Year: Artist

The TIGA Education Committee will determine the winner of this Award on the basis of criteria including: best degree result; best module grade; best showreel/portfolio; best project; most improved student. The winner will receive the accolade ‘Outstanding TIGA Graduate of the Year: Artist’. Runners up will receive the accolade: ‘TIGA Graduate of the Year’.

Lecturers from TIGA university members are eligible to propose a graduate from each relevant Accredited course on the basis of one or more of the following criteria: best degree result; best module grade; best showreel; best project; most improved student. This is an individual Award and so evidence from group projects should not constitute the main criteria. Students in their final year at BSc and BA level (2020-21) are eligible for the Award.

This is an individual Award and so evidence from group projects should not constitute the main criteria. Students in their final year at BSc and BA level (2020-21) are eligible for the Award.

The TIGA Education Committee will determine the winner of this Award on the basis of criteria including: best MA or MSc result; best module grade; best showreel/portfolio; best project; most improved student. The winner will receive the accolade ‘Outstanding TIGA Post Graduate of the Year’. Runners up will receive the accolade ‘TIGA Post Graduate of the Year’.

Lecturers from TIGA university members are eligible to propose a post graduate from each relevant Accredited course on the basis of one or more of the following criteria: best post graduate degree result; best module grade; best showreel; best project; most improved student. The criteria selected must primarily demonstrate individual work completed solely by the student as part (or all) of their degree assignments for the Accredited course. This is an individual Award and so evidence from group projects should not constitute the main criteria. Students in their final year at MSc and MA level (either 2019-2020 or 2020-21) are eligible for the Award.

Outstanding TIGA BTEC Learner of the Year

The TIGA Education Committee will determine the winner of this Award on the basis of criteria including: outstanding project work, most improved student, etc. The winner will receive the accolade ‘Outstanding TIGA BTEC Learner of the Year’. Runners up will receive the accolade: ‘TIGA BTEC Learner of the Year’.

Lecturers from TIGA FE college members are eligible to propose one ‘BTEC Learner of the Year’ from each of their TIGA accredited Pearson courses (i.e. BTECs and T Levels) on the basis of criteria including: outstanding project work, most improved learner, etc. This is an individual Award and so evidence from group projects should not constitute the main criteria..

TIGA FE College of the Year

The TIGA Education Committee will grant this Award to an FE college that demonstrates excellence in educational provision for students.

This Award is open to organisations that are members of TIGA who have a course or courses accredited by TIGA.

Innovative Teaching Award

The TIGA Education Committee will be looking for evidence over the period 2020 to 2021 of innovation and excellence in teaching undertaken by lecturers. The TIGA Education Committee will grant this Award to either an individual lecturer or to a teaching team.

This Award is open to all Accredited TIGA University and FE courses. Each TIGA Accredited course may enter a maximum of one entry.

Excellence in University/College – Industry Collaboration

The TIGA Education Committee will grant this Award to a course that achieves excellent university/college – industry collaboration over the period 2020 to 2021. For example, in course design, industry placements and projects, etc.

This Award is open to all TIGA University and FE college members. Each TIGA university and FE college member may enter a maximum of one entry.

Excellence in Games Research

The TIGA Education Committee will grant this Award to a student, or to a lecturer, or to a research group that demonstrates excellence and innovation in research over the period 2020 to 2021. In addition to completing the entrance form, student(s) and lecturer(s) should submit a single published research paper. The TIGA Education Committee will consider criteria including originality, significance and rigour when determining the winner.

This Award is open to individual students and lecturers or to teams of students and lecturers from all accredited TIGA University and FE college members. Each TIGA university member may enter a maximum of one entry.

Best Student Business

The TIGA Education Committee will grant this Award to the best business set up by students over the period 2020 to 2021. The Committee will be looking for excellence in games development and excellence in business performance.

This Award is open to students from all TIGA university and FE college members. Each TIGA university and college member may enter a maximum of one entry.

Diversity Award

The TIGA Education Committee will grant this Award to the games course that demonstrates best practice in promoting diversity in its course design, its student intake and in its education provision over the period 2020 to 2021.

This Award is open to courses from all TIGA University and FE college members. Each TIGA university and FE college member may enter a maximum of one entry.

Best Student Game 2021

This Award will be given to the best student game developed over the period 2020 to 2021. The TIGA Education Committee will create a shortlist of five – seven games. Shortlisted games must be playable, final versions. The Committee will be looking for creativity and excellence in art, sound, code and gameplay design

This Award is open to games developed by students from all TIGA university and FE college members over the period 2020 to 2021.
