In the fifth instalment of our TIGA Awards 2021 winners interview series, we spoke to MMP Tax Director David Marshall (pictured, right) about what it meant to pick up the Best Tax & Accountancy Firm award, the need to recognise excellence across the games industry, inspiring peers and what we’ll all be talking about in 2025…
What did it mean to you/your company to win a TIGA Award?
It was a thrill to all the team members making them proud to be recognised for what we do.
Why is it important that excellence in game development/services/education is recognised via awards like this?
The games community is an inclusive one where age, gender and ethnicity are irrelevant. It’s important for health, education, mental wellbeing, as well as fun. The TIGA community helps people recognise it as such.
Who are the peers in games and beyond who inspire you?
New entrant start-ups like those teams working in the National Film and Television School, such as the game ‘Shadows of Them’, which was a finalist in the Indie:Showcase at Develop:Brighton.
Outside of winning a TIGA Award, what have been your greatest achievements to date?
Winning the wellbeing award from the London Mayor for how we treat our staff and our approach to wellbeing, plus our staff for their unfailing loyalty to the business and our clients.
In 2025 we’ll all be talking about…?
How dull the games were back in 2022!!
