In a unique communications partnership, The Independent Game Developers’ Association (TIGA) and ITN Productions have produced a news and current affairs-style programme – Changing the Game – which explores the future of the video gaming industry.
The programme tells the story of a thriving industry that, given the right support and encouragement at home, could see the UK reach its full potential on the global stage.
The aim of this in-depth, online programme is to share knowledge and heighten awareness among policy makers, politicians and the wider public about the significant role that the video games sector plays in the UK economy. The TIGA – ITN programme also shows how students can embark on a career in the growing and dynamic video games industry.
Changing the Game demonstrates the success, expertise and achievement of the UK games industry. It examines the challenges facing the sector: in particular, access to finance and access to highly skilled development staff. The programme examines TIGA’s approach for addressing these challenges and considers the impact of Brexit on the sector. The programme looks at TIGA’s University Accreditation strategy and interviews students at The University of Portsmouth. And Changing the Game showcases some of the leading organisations in the UK’s games industry including TIGA members Amiqus, Codemasters, Playfusion, Rebellion and Supermassive Games.
