UK Game Developers Encouraged to enter Queen’s Awards for Enterprise

By June 20, 2012 TIGA News

Videogame
developers are being encouraged to enter for The Queen's Awards for Enterprise
by TIGA, the trade association representing the UK games industry.

The annual awards recognise the highest levels of excellence for innovation,
international trade and sustainable development. There is also an individual
award, Enterprise Promotion, granted to people who play a significant role in
promoting enterprise skills and encourage entrepreneurial attitudes in others
in the UK.

Entries can be made until the final working day of September and they are open
to any company based in the UK – including the Channel Islands and the Isle of
Man – which operate as a business unit of the UK economy, have at least two
full-time employees or part-time equivalents and are able to demonstrate
commercial success.

Dr Richard Wilson, CEO of TIGA, said:

“The videogame sector in
the UK is massively innovative and highly regarded across the world and we
would encourage developers to apply for a Queen's Award.

“It is free to enter and we firmly believe that there are many gaming
companies which would deserve such a prestigious honour.”
