TIGA welcomes Desktop Daydreams Studios as its latest member

By May 24, 2013 Press Releases

TIGA, the organisation representing the games industry, is delightedto announce Desktop Daydreams Studios as its latest member.

Desktop Daydreams was founded in late 2012 by university
friends Darren Flowers and Tim Newsome.
After graduating in 2010 they had worked as freelancers on a number of
projects, including game asset creation and full titles.

The company creates in-house IPs and client
applications. Its goal is to create exciting and unique game experiences
whether that’s our own IP’s, or working with clients. It provides outsourcing services, supplying creativity
and ideas, as well as game asset creation. And it recently hired a new
programmer.  Desktop
Daydreams released ‘Happy Bunnies’ on iOS
in March and it is working on ‘Wordy’, an upcoming word puzzle game.

The
company has also been talking with various businesses in the UK regarding
mobile applications and creative ideas. One of the key things it has been
looking into recently is creating engaging content for brands in a unique way
through mobile games.

Darren Flowers, co-founder of Desktop Dreams, said:
“The UK mobile-gaming industry is
a really exciting place to be. Start-ups and indies look to be taking the reigns
as some of the bigger studios struggle. We’re delighted to be part of this
exciting new wave.””

Dr Richard Wilson, CEO of TIGA, said:
“Desktop Dreams is a highly ambitious company
that has begun in the right way, building up slowly, testing the market, trying
out new ideas and generating employment. TIGA is in a great position to help
new start-ups. We have a self-publishing guide for developers attempting to
forge their own way in the industry and we have frequent events that prove
invaluable for networking and learning new skills.””
