TIGA CEO and Ed Vaizey speak at The Digital Media Conference

By March 30, 2011 Press Releases

TIGA Chief Executive, Dr. Richard Wilson, and Creative Industries Minister, Ed Vaizey, were among the speakers at The Digital Media Conference today. The conference covered a variety of digital industries including media, content, games, telecoms, software and IT.

Dr. Richard Wilson was sharing his expertise from the games industry by chairing a session on Production as a Global Business. The session covered whether globalisation was good or bad for the UK and whether regulation helps or hinders global trade.

Dr. Richard Wilson commented:
“The Digital Media Conference was an excellent opportunity to share and promote the games industry to a digital industries audience. The topic of globalisation is very pertinent for our domestic industry. The continued risks of a brain drain of British talent because of our uncompetitive games business environment due to a lack of Games Tax Relief are very concerning. Whilst the Government was right to introduce the reforms to the R&D Tax Credits we campaigned for, we continue to swim against the tide internationally.””
