Preloaded joins TIGA

By July 28, 2010 Press Releases

TIGA, the trade association representing the UK games industry, today announced Preloaded as its newest member.

Preloaded is an award winning creative studio, focusing on arts, entertainment and education. Clients include, among others, the BBC, Channel 4, Science Museum, Tate, Parliament Education and Arts Council England.

Preloaded is the studio behind the incredibly successful ‘1066’ game for Channel 4, that has so far achieved close to 20 million plays since its launch in May 2009. The studio’s most recent projects are ‘SuperMe’ again for Channel 4, a game which aims to help children through the difficulties of growing up; and ‘Thingdom’ for the Science Museum, designed to educate teens on genetics and brain science.

Award wins include gongs from BAFTA, Cannes Lions, Royal Television Society, SXSW (Best of Show) and most recently another BIMA award in the games category for ‘1066’. Based in London’s Shoreditch area, Preloaded is still independent and has just celebrated its 10th birthday.

Paul Canty Managing Director at Preloaded explains the company’s vision: “We founded Preloaded over 10 years ago when the idea of cross-media collaboration was still in its infancy. We came from creative and advertising agency backgrounds with a passion in games development and wanted to create an agency that fused our skills. Today people are far more aware of the power of games to educate as well as entertain. We aim to create playful, interactive and educational products that engage, surprise and excite. We are also expert in marketing our games and building at community, something which we believe must sit at the heart of any online or mobile game campaign.””

On joining TIGA Canty added: “TIGA offers real value to games developers who want to build connections both within the games industry and extend their reach beyond traditional gaming circles. TIGA have already introduced us to potential new clients and brands through the ‘Creative Industry Switch’ initiative and we hope to meet and network with more TIGA members over the coming months.””

Dr. Richard Wilson, TIGA CEO stated: “Preloaded is an agency at the forefront of digital multi-platform content creation and delivery. They have proven that games can be both informative and compelling and are adept at engaging audiences from across a wide spectrum. TIGA is a community of extremely diverse and talented companies and organisation from across the UK and we are thrilled to welcome Preloaded to our ranks.””
