Grads in Games Competitions

By January 14, 2016 TIGA News

At Grads in Games we run two exciting competitions for undergraduates aspiring to be video game programmers. Each competition consists of three stages designed by industry experts, to mirror the typical recruitment process within the games industry.

We run Search for a Star competitions in both coding and art. Candidates are put through two stages before five finalists are selected for a panel interview with leading industry representatives at Microsoft UK Campus in Reading. You can read more detailed descriptions of each competition and the three stages following this link: http://gradsingames.com/competitions/search-for-a-star/

Like Search for a Star, Rising Star, consists of a coding and an art competition. However, this this competition is specifically designed for students who are not yet in their final year of study. Like Search for a Star, five finalists are invited to a panel interview with industry representatives at the Microsoft UK Campus in Reading. For more details on this competition, you can follow this link:http://gradsingames.com/competitions/rising-star/

The Search for a Star and Rising Star competitions provide a unique opportunity for talented individuals to showcase their skills and help them break into the industry once they graduate. It is this unique experience that helps individuals to stand out and enter into a competitive industry that even the most talented game developers often struggle to get into.

Alongside benefitting students, this programme also benefits universities to promote games development related courses, through the promising career prospects these competitions provide.
