Audio Network Joins TIGA

By November 25, 2010 Press Releases

TIGA, the trade association representing the UK games industry, today announced Audio Network as its newest member.

Audio Network supplies high production quality music to the TV, film, advertising and games industries. The company offers a complete music solution by cutting through the traditionally complex and costly processes of licensing music. All high quality tracks are pre-cleared for multiple formats, for the world, forever.

Formed in 2001, Audio Network built its catalogue organically by recruiting leading composers in the UK and inviting them to participate as shareholders. This approach allows producers to make content for international distribution, emerging platforms and new media without the need to go through the complicated and expensive process of clearing individual tracks or re-versioning productions.

Audio Network owns the rights to their extensive catalogue which covers a full range of music styles from classical to hip hop and from country to rock ‘n’ roll. This high quality music is created by its team of established international composers and recorded by major orchestras and artistes including The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Dame Evelyn Glennie OBE and the late Sir John Dankworth CBE.

Now at over 36,000 tracks, Audio Network releases up to 8,000 new works per year for its main catalogue. The company supplies music to some major international media clients, including BBC, EA Games, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, HBO, MSN and MTV Networks.

Chris Blakeston, Director of UK Music Sales at Audio Network said: “In a thriving multi-platform environment where gaming has become an integral player, we’re delighted to become members of TIGA. As music plays an increasingly important part in gaming, we look forward to working alongside the games industry providing music for the whole spectrum of games from blockbusters to small indie games.”

Dr. Richard Wilson, TIGA CEO said: “Audio Network are leaders in the world of music licensing and can offer our members expert assistance and advice in this area. TIGA recently formed a TIGA Audio Group for members who work in audio in the games industry and we are committed to helping all our audio members as much possible. We are pleased to welcome Audio Network to TIGA.””
