The programme is designed to produce graduates with high-level subject-specific knowledge, practical and transferable skills to enable them to seek employment within the computer games and creative industries or proceed to further advanced study. The programme will provide students with a solid grounding in game development, software engineering and practical programming skills. These core themes have been developed from examining the current and future requirements of the national and international job market and the requirements for students intending to undertake a higher degree.

The university works closely with leading game developers such as Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Microsoft and Sega making graduates from this course highly employable within these industries. Graduates have found employment as gameplay programmers, tools and test engineers and various front-end and back-end programming roles in a wide variety of different areas such as creating mobile, handheld and console games for a wide diversity of platforms.
