From the uplifting beep of an 8-bit style platform to the suffocating claustrophobia of a first-person horror slash-‘em-up, never before has the world of game audio provided such a rich, dynamic and varied professional landscape. BA (Hons) Sound and Music for Games is a professionally-accredited degree programme that aims to create graduates who can work in this exciting area, developing and implementing sound assets for screen media, including video games, film, and television.

You will be based in White Space, Abertay’s hub for creative computing, working in production teams alongside programmers, artists and producers, and using industry-standard production tools. While the programme is focused on game sound, it will help prepare you to find employment across the music industry and beyond. Previous graduates have built successful careers in music retail, audio-visual installations, production for holiday and festival venues, and podcasting. The ability to work creatively with sound can find a home in many different areas. It also provides an excellent platform for further study, and many students go on to study at masters level both here in the UK and overseas.

The programme takes entrants directly into Stage 3 (Level 9), so if you are a sound designer, engineer, producer or composer, or an artist, game designer or coder with a passion for sound, and you are currently studying an HND (or equivalent) at an FE college, we would love to hear from you.
