BA (Hons) Computer Arts is an internationally-acclaimed degree programme, and is recognised by the interactive entertainment and broadcast sectors as one of the best digital arts degrees available. The course is accredited by Creative SkillSet, the UK Sector Skills Council for Creative Media industries, which ensures our graduates have the skills and knowledge required for successful professional careers. The programme explores digital arts practice across the creative industries, exposing students to a diverse range of subjects including 2D and 3D digital art, animation, computer games, physical computing and visual effects. Students will develop their professional practice within these fields, working independently and within a team on creative projects throughout their studies. The course facilitates the development of critical and contextual understanding of the field and best practice through engagement with industry practitioners, visiting lectures, masterclasses and project mentoring.

The university works closely with a range of employers including industry leaders within the fields of computer games, visual effects and animation. Collaboration with industry leading employers ensures the programme prepares graduates for employment whist embedding highly desirable and transferrable creative skills.   Graduates from Computer Arts have secured employment across the diverse landscape of computer arts including environment art production for Rockstar North, 3D asset creation at The Chinese Room, Character Animation at Moving Picture Company and Assistant Technical Director at Double Negative.
